Aisling Foley is a marketing consultant and mentor with 28 years’ experience in technology marketing. She has a diploma from the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing and specialises in supporting start-ups and software companies.
Aisling started her IT career at British Telecom in London, where she spent more than seven years in marketing. She worked for six years in supply chain management software, with US companies i2 (now JDA) and AspenTech – in Belgium and the UK. Aisling also worked as Marketing Manager at Sabre Holdings in Dublin, where she was responsible for the international marketing of Sabre’s Point of Sale (PoS) solutions.
Aisling went on to work as Head of Marketing for CR2, in both Dublin and Dubai. Then, in 2007, she decided to start her own B2B technology marketing consultancy. At the time, she felt that somebody with her experience could help small- and medium-sized Irish software companies, which tend not to employ full-time marketing staff (even more so today with the growing number of tech start-ups).
Aisling has since created and implemented marketing communications projects with clients such as Macalla, Irish Software Association, Skillnet, LeanLogistics, NVMdurance and InfoSecurity Ireland.
I love the variety the most. I love going into a company, seeing the problem, getting my head around the product and how it benefits their customers, and then helping them communicate this with their target audience.
Aisling has been a mentor with Enterprise Ireland since 2013, a decision she took because she believed that her software and technology experience, together with the range of countries and regions she has lived and worked in, would be of use to Irish companies.
I love mentoring because there is such a variety of industries and marketing areas covered. I’m particularly proud of the work I did with Revive Active. They are outside of my usual technology area which makes it even more interesting and they are doing enormously well.
