Megan Hearty New Frontiers programme Enterprise IrelandWhere are you from and how did you get here?

I’m from Bayside which is in North Dublin. My childhood consisted solely of playing sports such as basketball every day, as well as volunteering every week in various community activities. My involvement with sport meant that I always had a lot of energy and a love of working with other people as part of a team and my involvement with volunteering allowed me to build on my creativity and organisation skills. This meant that choosing a degree in Marketing, Innovation and Technology in DCU was the perfect career choice for me. From there, my love of working with others and being creative attracted me to my current role!

What is it about business and start-ups that so interests you?

I believe that members of the start-up world are some of the most enthusiastic and interesting people out there. The idea of working alongside such creative people in a fast-paced environment has always been of interest to me. It’s an exciting space to be in and I feel that I can learn a lot from the people around me.

What do you feel are the qualities you bring to the role?

I believe that I am a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others. I think that my flexibility and eagerness to learn are some of the main qualities that I bring to the role.
